Residential Architecture

Desert Modern

Gipson

This desert modern home combines sandblasted exposed masonry, exposed steel and extensive glass. Inside, the Great Room’s deeply soffited ceiling is wood paneled and contains exposed A/C ductwork. At one end, an architect designed linear fireplace, its shape abstract and its surface weathered steel sections. Window walls are everywhere, letting in light and the dramatic views of the canyon walls almost close enough to touch. Rear Patio’s cantilevered roof has steel fascia and wood paneled ceiling. Pool deck is a few steps down and set into the rock strewn desert. Spa is cantilevered over the shallow end of the Pool.
