Hacienda Tuscan & Mediterranean

Lantier

Desiring a complete departure from their Florida residence, these clients immersed themselves in the southwest by relocating to the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona. Seeking a design inspired by the history and culture of the southwest that would tie them to their new home, the idea of a modern-styled hacienda took shape. The hallmarks of clay tile roofs, rough wood beams and an elaborate wood entry door greet guests upon entering the courtyard. A spacious Great Room incorporates traditional rough sawn ceiling beams, tongue-and-groove paneling, and naturally textured stacked stone walls. Contemporary influence provides walls of glass that draw the amazing desert surroundings inside. Furnishings and textiles pop with vivid blues, reds, and rust oranges seen in the desert landscape. The Kitchen’s smooth walnut cabinetry with metal exhaust hood highlight the backsplash, an Alex Turco custom artistic surface. Contemporary re-imagining continues to the Master Suite with its 3-sided, stone-faced fireplace, and blue tile wall in the Master Bathroom, fabricated from crushed glass. The broad rear patio and curvilinear Pool provide ample space for entertaining and taking in the rugged desert mountain views. Abstract patterned steel patio roof extensions offer contemporary flair, casting ever-changing shadows on the patio throughout the day.
