This extensive remodel transforms a traditional Southwestern residence into a sophisticated desert contemporary home, reimagining both its architectural identity and the way the interior spaces connect. While the original home featured compartmentalized rooms, arched openings, light wood cabinetry, and a more traditional material palette, the renovation introduces cleaner geometry, stronger visual connections, and a distinctly modern character.

At the exterior, simplified forms, expansive black-framed glass, deep overhangs, and a dramatic covered entry give the residence an entirely new presence while remaining grounded in its desert setting. Native and drought-tolerant landscaping softens the architecture and creates a natural transition between the home and surrounding landscape.

Inside, walls and visual barriers were opened to create a brighter, more cohesive sequence of living and entertaining spaces. The redesigned kitchen makes a striking statement with richly grained floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, a dramatic stone island, sculptural pendant lighting, and views that extend into the adjacent gathering areas and outdoors. Warm wood ceilings provide continuity throughout and balance the crisp contemporary detailing.

The living room is anchored by a streamlined linear fireplace and integrated display shelving, while expansive glass doors frame desert and mountain views and strengthen indoor-outdoor living. A nearby game room and intimate sitting area extend the home’s entertaining spaces without sacrificing visual connection.

Even smaller spaces receive distinctive treatment, including a dramatically remodeled powder room where richly textured walls, integrated lighting, warm wood, and expressive stone turn a formerly utilitarian space into a memorable design moment.

The result is a complete transformation—retaining the home’s relationship with its Sonoran Desert surroundings while replacing its traditional character with a warmer, more open and highly tailored contemporary aesthetic.
