Residential Architecture

The Ridge

Designed as a refined response to its Sonoran Desert setting, this contemporary residence balances bold architectural geometry with warmth, transparency, and an effortless connection to the landscape. Clean horizontal forms, deep overhangs, and contrasting charcoal and light-toned exterior materials create a strong composition, while wood-clad ceilings soften the architecture and carry visual warmth from indoors to out.

Expansive walls of glass frame desert and mountain views throughout the home, allowing natural light and the surrounding landscape to become integral elements of the interiors. The open living, dining, and kitchen spaces are unified by a restrained palette of warm wood, matte black cabinetry, crisp white surfaces, and large-format flooring. Sculptural lighting introduces an artistic focal point, while custom cabinetry and carefully integrated details maintain the home’s clean architectural character.

The primary suite continues this connection to the site with floor-to-ceiling glass opening toward a private desert terrace. In the bath, a freestanding tub is positioned against corner windows, transforming the surrounding landscape into a dramatic backdrop. Floating vanities, illuminated mirrors, and a generous glass shower reinforce the serene, contemporary aesthetic.

Outdoor living is equally considered. A broad covered patio extends the interior living spaces toward the pool, with integrated dining, lounging, and cooking areas overlooking the desert. Above, a rooftop terrace reached by a sculptural spiral staircase offers an elevated vantage point for expansive mountain views. Together, architecture, interiors, and landscape create a sophisticated desert retreat centered on openness, comfort, and its remarkable natural setting.
